Architect and choreographer Shireen Talhouni will be choreographing a site-specific performance that explores the relationship between the individual, the collective, and the city.

The value of bilingual typography and its implications are at the core interests of prominent and emerging designers in the region. Bilingualism in visual communication is becoming an imperative approach in design praxis. Diane Mikhael introduces the new publication, ‘Bilingualism in Visual Communication’, which showcases an amalgam of historical accounts, concepts and design practices in pairing the Arabic and Latin scripts.

She discusses projects by The Khatt Foundation that focus on open-platform, exchange and collaboration, and education as case studies for a potential model of operation.

This workshop, facilitated by Yvan Rodic, gives participants a general idea about street style culture and the possibility to experience it. The first part of the workshop is about exploring cultural backgrounds (from geo-social identity to the age of subcultures and individualism), the history of photography, and how to shoot. The ‘A Chair Tale’ exhibition uses a common household item – the chair – as a lens from which to tell a story about identity and material culture. The exhibition features myriad chairs of diverse upholstery, shapes and styles, each with their own story to tell. In this exhibition, the chairs represent these shared experiences and stories.
